IT’S NOT ALWAYS ABOUT WHAT YOU NEED.

Happy: “Avengers don’t do the job because they need it.  They do the job because people need them to”. 

This is a phrase form the movie, Deadpool and Wolverine.  It hit me hard.

Maybe the best and most impactful thing about Virginia MN- Going to the Cinema and watching the Deadpool and Wolverine movie. 

Not the type of movie you call impactful or revelational.  But like somebody close to me mentioned- There is always something good in everything, even if it means that you really have to look hard. 

Some will call it an answer others will say it was a sign or even a revelation.  Whatever it was, it meant something.  It spoke to me, it had meaning, it made me think.

My last two months was hard. I lost a lot of things, maybe a lot of myself as well.  I questioned so many things, some of them being direction, purpose, self-worth.

I struggled.

I came to a stop.

At some stage I even felt broken.

I had more questions than answers and it felt like I didn’t know myself anymore.

This trip was not intended to be a holiday- It was an emotional roller-coaster as it meant that I might need to move away, relocate.  And yes, I will have to leave some things very close to my heart behind.

Purpose- I bet you it’s something we all wonder about.  It’s an unknown, a question inside all of us. 

What makes you tick, why are you here, what is your purpose?

That phrase is the movie made me realise where my magic lies.  My magic lies in people.  It lies in influencing and touching and making a difference in people’s lives.  It’s about being a shoulder, an ear, a hand.  It’s being whatever the person needs and being okay with that. 

My purpose is people.

Being that smile that somebody needs.

Giving a hand where it is needed- and ear to listen when somebody needs to talk.  A hand, a shoulder, a hug, a smile.

My purpose is people- my people- and the ones that need it.

Maybe your purpose isn’t about you and what you need, maybe it’s about others and what they need.  Maybe it’s about being something to somebody when they need it most.

My purpose is people- Not only because it’s what I need, but because it’s what they need.
