You were an angel in the shape of my mom.
You were an angel in the shape of my mom.

How can I not write about you…

You were the closest reflection I had of myself, the person I wanted to be, the lessons learned and mistakes not to make, the must do’s, the giving heart, the enjoyment and joy of hard work and living an energetic life full of passion.

You were my Mother.

My best friend, my partner in crime, as you use to call me.

My mother but also my person.  We got along so well, you and me!

From the moment I opened my eyes I was yours, and you enjoyed me with everything you had in you.

We had so much fun together, and we embraced every part of being Mother and daughter.

You were a phenomenal human being.

Your hands knew what hard work meant, and you never complained.  You just kept on going.  You were tough and hard core, a no-nonsense person.

You always made a plan, and nothing was ever to big or complicated.  You always said yes first and then figured out how to do it later.

You were a “bok vir sports” full of life and energy and a naughty sense of humor.

You were my Mother.

You had a big heart mom, and you loved spoiling people.  You taught us to give, even if it means more than what we received.   Nothing was ever to much for you.

Your red lips was your armor, as if it gave you the courage to fight every fight that came your way.  Even till the end, you always had it on.

You were the one person who knew me better that I know myself, the first person I called in any situation.  Shit mom, I’m gonna miss you.

You taught me so many things in life, and sometimes I find myself smiling when I realize that so much of who I am, comes from you.  You were so proud of me, my biggest fan.  You always said how beautiful I am, “jou groen oog krul kop”. Your “Dolla mallan” , your “Darling”.

You truly loved me unconditionally.

You were the best thing God ever gave me, the best Mother.  I will forever love you and cherish you…..and be grateful to have experienced the love that a mother and daughter can have for each other.

You will forever have a place in our hearts, and our life’s will keep on testifying of who you are.  I will see you again Mams.

You are forever in my heart.
